Workshop Information

The Summer Math Workshops are designed to accelerated and provide a deeper understanding of solutions to math problems on the ACT, SAT, and math competitions. Identifying where each problem tends to be located in the sequence of standard math courses will also allow curious students to explore more math on their own without the frustration of tediously searching for vital information.

Each workshop is two and a half hours, Monday through Friday for two weeks, and costs $200. This averages out to be $8/hr. Each workshop will have a limit of five students per session. Some of the workshops are designed to accelerate 6th through 8th graders, while others are designed for 8th through 10th graders. The workshops will use American Mathematics Competition tests and ACTs for topic material.

My qualifications include a masters degree in physics, over twenty years working as a gifted mentor at Lincoln Public Schools, and being a professional tutor for the same amount of time. I also had four students (past and present) in the top eleven places in the chapter Math Counts competition including first and second place, and three in the top eleven at state including first and fifth. And while I give those students all the credit for their own success, I'd like to think I helped and motivated them in achieving their goals.

Please call 402-421-3536 to register. Reservations for the workshop are first come, first served. A one time payment of $200 is to be made prior to the start of the first session. There are no refunds after the start of the first session. See the table below for dates and times.
