How I Obtain My Testimonials

This website is fairly new and unfortunately I only started thinking about adding testimonials lately, so there's not much here yet. Also, I would expect that not all of my students will want to have a video of themselves on the internet so that may limit the rate of testimonials. This is yet to be determined. But I still expect I will be adding to the list as we go.

One of the things I don't see at other tutor's website is any disclosure on how the testimonials are obtained. Clearly, this can be a self-serving practice if you think about it. And it doesn't really matter if the review is done by a company or what appears to be a third party hosting a list of tutors. They're not going to post bad reviews because that would detract from traffic coming to their web pages. So in an effort to be honest with you the potential client, I'm going to tell you how I get my testimonials.

Generally, you'll see testimonials here from people that have been clients for at least a month. That way, they know me well enough to have something to say about me. I would expect the testimonials to always be favorable, not because I'm throwing out the bad ones, but because anyone that was unhappy with my service would not be coming back multiple times. I can tell you that since I started my business in 1991, I can think of 4 students who were not satisfied out of approximately 1100 clients. I tend to believe it was primarily due to a clash of personalities in these cases. What can I say. It happens.

Further, I do and will compensate the people who give testimonials for allowing themselves to be posted on the internet. If it was a written review, I would not compensate clients. But I think there's a certain amount of hesitancy for most people associated being posted on the internet in a video and I want to encourage more of my clients to let you the potential client know what it's like to work with me. The compensation is a flat one-time credit of $6 to their account. This amounts to 1/4 to 1/3 of one hour with me.
